Summary
Title: CNC Operator / Machine Operative The Best Connection are recruiting for a Machine Operator CNC to work in a busy facility in Chorley.
A machine operator is in charge of operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machine. They produce machined parts according to established parameters and specifications. Performing inspections of components/ industrial machines and work areas. The operator also calibrates their machine prior to commencing work.
Day to day responsibilities
- Use machine on a daily production run
- Liaise with machine shop manager to ensure jobs are completed in time
- Clean work area and equipment as required
- General monitor and limited inspection of components to sure tolerance have not shifted from the required levels
- Ensure first piece inspection is requested from appropriate staff member
- Flame polishing of lenses from CNC routers
- Varied finishing tasks on components, such as de-burring/ drilling
- Complete relevant paper work for component traceability
Required Skills and Experience
- Inspecting products with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to inspecting production
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
- Be able to work under their own initiative
- Follow the component specification/ drawing as required
Hours of work
Monday to Thursday 8am till 4.30pm Friday 8am till 1pm
Benefits & Requirements:
- Hourly rate as above (not age dependent)
- 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)
- Ongoing Assignment
- Overtime Available
- Possible permanent position following a successful trial period
- Weekend Work
