Summary
Key Responsibilities: GENERAL Responsible for ensuring, in conjunction with the ward team, that the cleaning standards meet the agreed levels, and that any shortfalls are dealt with quickly. Assist with the cleaning and catering tasks as described in works schedule. Responsible for ensuring the day area, dining room and interview rooms, are kept clean, tidy and welcoming for patients and visitors. Responsible for the cleaning of patients en-suite bedrooms and that they are kept clean and free of clutter at all times, and that the ward is tidy throughout. Responsible for establishing, maintaining and assisting with a programme of curtain changing throughout the ward, in line with Trust policy. Responsible for ensuring that following the patients discharge, the en-suite bedroom is cleaned and equipped in preparation for the next admission. Responsible for ensuring patients personal clothing is washed and correctly stored. Responsible for ordering of consumables and other supplies, ensuring that these are correctly stored, and used in rotation. Responsible for assisting nursing staff in cleaning medical equipment. To attend all mandatory and non mandatory training as required. To be responsible for all patients meals, snacks and beverages including special diets, adhering to standards and procedures and training practices for the delivery and service of all meals. Responsible for ensuring the ward complies with the Trust Food hygiene policy i.e fridge temperature and brings to the Clinical Managers attention any no compliance. It is everyone responsible to be aware of infection control procedures and to carry out relevant training. Every member of staff has a responsibility to be aware of and follow at all times, the relevant national and local policy in relation to the safeguarding of children, the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and the control of infection.
