The Anti-Poverty Service is looking for an experienced adviser to provided dedicated advice and support with debt, income maximisation, housing and energy concerns for families in West Lothian.


This post is funded through the No-one Left Behind fund with a view to providing support with debt and other financial barriers faced by parents and families. You will act as a key point of contact for clients and carry a caseload as you work with individuals to maximise their income and explore appropriate debt solutions tailored to their circumstances.


You will be required to provide holistic advice in a number of topic areas so you should be an experienced adviser in the areas of income maximisation, debt, energy or housing advice. A good working knowledge of debt advice and social security benefits will be essential in this post. Many of your clients may have multiple barriers to engagement, so experience of casework and working with vulnerable people would be highly beneficial in this role.


This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
