Summary
Cheryl and Craig are looking for a Support Worker. She, is a very busy lady with a full social life, she loves horse riding and visiting the beach, singing and karaoke . She also volunteers at her local homeless charity.
As a Support Worker you will also be supporting Craig, her boyfriend when necessary, Craig always has the biggest smile and he enjoys a busy social life. He enjoys going to the gym and swimming and loves to watch football. He also enjoys a visit to his local pub with his girlfriend.
Essential for this job:
This position is a genuine occupational requirement covered under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and therefore only applications from females are requested.
Driver with valid full UK licence
Contract Hours: 20h
Cheryl is a very sociable friendly person, she lives in her own house in Torquay and has an established team supporting her. She is very independent and requires very little support around her home but requires some support with budgeting her money.
They are looking for people who are fun and interested in the same things that she and her boyfriend Craig are, but also someone who can introduce them to new things. At times Cheryl needs some emotional support to keep her on track, she can easily become overwhelmed which leads to her feeling anxious.
Craig can sometimes struggle with his memory due to his brain injury and he can be stubborn but in the most part he leads a fun independent life. Mostly though, it’s all about having fun and supporting Cheryl and Craig on their journey to increased independence.
Ideally you will:
Have some experience of working with people with a brain injury
Have excellent communication skills
Have the energy to keep up with Craig’s and Cheryl’s social life
Be reliable and flexible
Enjoy this line of work
Have a get up and go attitude
