Your Role as Sous Chef:

As Sous Chef, you are the vital link between the kitchen team and the Head Chef. You’ll champion consistency, lead by example, and support the daily operation of a busy kitchen that thrives on fresh, seasonal, locally sourced produce. This is a key leadership role for someone who’s calm under pressure, passionate about food, and ready to step up.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management


Lead the team in service, ensuring every dish is delivered to spec and standard


Use your creativity and technical knowledge to maintain high-quality food delivery


Motivate and develop junior chefs through clear communication and example


Maintain organisation, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen


Understand and control food cost, wastage, and other kitchen KPIs


Ensure compliance with HACCP, COSHH, and all food safety regulations




What We’re Looking For in a Sous Chef:



Experience in a senior kitchen role within a premium pub or restaurant


Passion for seasonal and local produce


Strong leadership, communication, and kitchen management skills


Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety practices


A sharp focus on kitchen numbers and performance


Own transport is essential due to our countryside location
