Your New Company
Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Denton, Greater Manchester. This well-regarded school is known for its strong community ethos, dedicated staff, and commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN). The school features a specialist SEN unit that provides a nurturing and structured environment for children with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Your New Role
As a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be based within the school's dedicated SEN unit, supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs), deliver targeted interventions, and promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September, ideal for someone with a passion for inclusive education and a desire to make a meaningful impact in a primary school setting.
What You'll Need to Succeed
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential
Proven experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school or early years setting
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children with additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
