Summary
Accountant/Bookkeeper – Sheffield
Salary/Hours: c £32,000 DOE - Monday to Friday, 5 days per week over 40 hours per week
Location: S35, Ecclesfield, Sheffield – office based
Job Type: Full Time, may consider Part Time (5 days/week required)
Ash Consulting are working with a well-established Management Efficiency Software company who seek to appoint an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to fulfil the role of Financial Controller. The appointee will be responsible for providing compliance accounts-based duties and associated confidential financial administrative support work and will report directly to the MD and also to the Board of Directors. Applicants should ideally be AAT fully qualified or equivalent and ideally familiar with Xero accounting and payroll software.
Key duties are as follows;
Role specifics:
• Daily reconciliation of bank
• Reporting on accounts
o Sales - monthly
o P&L - monthly
o Balance sheet, including reconciliation - monthly
o Board reports - bi-monthly
• Co. Secretary Duties
• Co. House filing
o HMRC
o VAT preparation and submission
o Shareholder admin and returns
o Annual returns
• Accounts payable
o Suppliers’ invoices and statements
o Co. credit card inc. reconciliation
o Expenses and mileage
o Purchase ledger reconciliation
• Forecasting and budgeting
o Sales
o P&L
o Cash flow
o Prepayments
• Recording/reporting on the company's financial transactions
• Payroll processing
o Summary prepared by MD for processing
• Any other bookkeeping tasks as required
• Adhere to company digital filing, PO and payroll processes
• Support Operational Accounts team, working together
• Making creditor/supplier payments using online banking
• Support annual audit by external auditors
Other Duties
• General support to other office support colleagues as needed
Key experience, ideal skills and qualities:
• Experience in using Xero is essential
• Competent user in Microsoft Excel, reporting, pivot tables etc.
• Demonstrate experience in a similar role
• Accountancy/bookkeeping – minimum 3 year required
• Xero – Minimum 1 year required
• Accountancy qualifications - preferred
