An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team as a Clerical Officer, as part of the Respiratory Secretarial team, based within the Respiratory Directorate.
The post holder will liaise with a wide range of professionals and patients to support in the smooth running of the service. This position is based at York Hospital.
Work is varied, challenging, and accuracy is essential. You will need to have excellent communication skills and have experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook. You must be effective in prioritising workloads, with a flexible and patient centred approach.

The post holder will provide support directly to the secretarial team, working closely with the Respiratory consultants & contributing to an efficient and effective service, within a very busy environment. The post holder will be responsible for transmitting all consultant letters, booking CF appointments and ensuring the post is recieved by all consultants.
You will work with clear departmental and national procedures, and have responsibility for receiving, maintaining and providing manual and electronic data, often containing sensitive and confidential information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as part of the wider team in the Respiratory Department.
