Summary
We are currently seeking an Early Years Practitioner – key person. You should hold a relevant Childcare Level 3 qualification and ideally will have some experience of working in a Pre-School/Nursery environment, as well as a DBS registered on the Update Service.
You will initially join the playgroup team, caring for children aged 2 to 3 years old. You will be responsible for a small group of children, planning activities that meet EYFS requirements and Characteristics of Effective Learning. You will consider the children's interests and ensure through play-based activities, observation and assessment, that the children continue to make progress in all areas of their learning.
You will be working in a small team and will liaise with parents and our management team. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday: 7.45 to 16.15, all- year round. You will be entitled to a 30-minute break and non-contact time to plan and update your children's Learning Journeys.

Key Responsibilities – be able to:
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Support the emotional, social, and physical development of each child
- Encourage children’s natural curiosity through both indoor and outdoor play and exploration
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress
- Contribute to the care and maintenance of the outdoor and indoor learning environments.
Essential:
- A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
- A genuine love for working with children and learning
- A good understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the update service
Desirable:
- Paediatric First Aid certification
