Purpose of the Job:

Flintstone Technology is seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Dundee. The successful candidate will provide detailed support to the Project Manager, including creating documentation, working with suppliers, liaising with the design team, clients, and internal/external resources to ensure successful project execution. This role involves attending meetings with clients, suppliers, and external certification bodies.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Assist the Project Manager in various tasks.
Develop standard and project-specific specifications to control production (e.g., material specifications, NDE procedures, quality plans, component data sheets, assembly specifications, test specifications).
Liaise with the design team to ensure compliance with customer specifications (QA and technical).
Define scopes of work for subcontracted enquiry packages.
Coordinate ITT processes and provide technical support during ITT clarifications.
Identify suppliers, manage detailed procurement, expedite orders, and conduct visits.
Evaluate and qualify sub-suppliers, including technical evaluation and assessment of quality, health & safety, and environmental aspects.
Follow up on manufacturing activities at sub-suppliers, including holding kick-off/pre-production meetings, conducting in-process expediting and quality inspections, witnessing factory acceptance testing/final inspections, and reviewing documents.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements at sub-supplier locations.


Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Experience working with sub-suppliers.
Honesty, reliability, and discretion are essential.
Experience in SolidWorks is beneficial but not essential.
