Summary
1. *Oversee shop operations*, including daily sales, hygiene standards, customer service, and staff performance across both butchery and grocery departments.
2. *Plan and manage inventory*, ensuring adequate stock levels for both retail customers and wholesale restaurant orders through supplier negotiations and demand forecasting.
3. *Supervise and train staff* on food safety regulations, meat handling protocols, and retail best practices, maintaining a skilled and compliant workforce.
4. *Ensure compliance with UK food hygiene laws* and health and safety standards, conducting regular audits of premises, refrigeration, and storage practices.
5. *Manage client relationships* with restaurants and catering businesses, ensuring high service standards and timely delivery of regular bulk orders.
6. *Develop and implement operational strategies*, including cost control measures, loss prevention, pricing strategies, and in-store promotions.
7. *Monitor financial records*, process supplier invoices, reconcile daily takings, and prepare basic sales and performance reports for business planning.
8. *Liaise with regulatory bodies*, such as the local environmental health office, to ensure all business practices meet legal and licensing requirements.
9. *Handle customer feedback and complaints*, implementing service improvements and ensuring client satisfaction both in retail and wholesale areas.
10. *Adapt to fluctuating demand*, assisting with product packing, quality checks, or logistics during peak periods while maintaining strategic oversight.
