What skills and experience we're looking for
As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, other staff members, outside agencies, and parents. You will provide invaluable support in the classroom and offer one-to-one assistance for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) if required. If supporting a child on a 1:1 basis an additional SEN allowance will be added to your contract.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
- Works well as part of a team but can also show initiative.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is caring, patient and flexible in their approach.
- Is committed to the values and ethos of Glusburn CP School.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning individually or in small groups.
- Assisting the teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Helping to create a safe and stimulating classroom environment.
- Supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs as required.
