What the school offers its staff
St. Thomas of Canterbury is a vibrant and diverse school community. Located close to Manchester City Centre and very convenient for city living.
Pupils thoroughly enjoy coming to school, working hard and achieving their very best. Behaviour and attitudes to learning are excellent. The happy and supportive staff team are second to none!
Are you up for a challenge? Do you want to make a real difference to the life chances of children? If you are ambitious, talented, and possess a real flair for teaching and learning, then this is the job for you! Many pupils at SToC present with barriers to learning so simply ‘delivering’ the curriculum is not enough to meet their needs. The staff build excellent relationships with the children and families, and the teachers are forensic in their formative assessment so the children receive what they actually need. Working here requires hard work and a real depth of thought, but it will allow you to develop into the best possible teacher.
SToC Primary School offers:
• a two-form entry school with excellent support from the parallel teacher;
• a TA in every class to support inclusive teaching and learning;
• pupils who love to learn, work hard and behave impeccably;
• a fully planned and resourced curriculum for all subject areas;
• an excellent ECT package, (if applicable) including dedicated time to work alongside and regularly observe expert practitioners;
• a senior leadership team that enables teachers to thrive;
• a large, supportive staff team with low mobility;
• specialist external providers for music and PE lessons;
