Salary: Lead Practitioner Pay Scale (London Fringe) £50,807 – £56,082 per annum
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)

Are you an exceptional Science teacher with the vision and drive to raise standards and support staff development? We are seeking a talented Lead Practitioner of Science to join our ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate science educator to play a central role in improving teaching and learning, both within the Science department and across the wider school. You will be a role model for outstanding practice, lead on professional development, and support strategic initiatives to raise achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of excellent teaching strategies in Science.


  • Coach, mentor and support staff to improve practice and raise student outcomes.


  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Science and SLT on curriculum innovation and assessment.


  • Drive whole-school improvement through research-informed teaching and learning.


  • Inspire students through high-quality teaching and a passion for science education.

    • Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching in Science (any discipline).


    • Is experienced in coaching colleagues and delivering effective CPD.


    • Is committed to improving outcomes for all learners through innovative practice.
