Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a SEND Officer to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team here at Bracknell Forest Council.

At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and offer a variety of flexible working practices, including options for remote working and arrangements that allow you to work from home, dependant on the needs of the service.

About you...
As a SEND Officer you will build effective and enabling relationships with families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and professionals, while supporting the statutory duties of the Bracknell Forest SEND Team.

As a SEND Officer your reflective nature and passionate approach will see you driving forward improvements which will be delivered through high quality written work. You will be a clear and comprehensive communicator and through effective organisational skills you will ensure that we meet and look to push beyond our obligations.

You will be a confident and dependable person who is enthusiastic about special educational needs.

Your strong communication skills are key, as well as experience of SEND services for children, young people, and families. You will promote listening to children at every opportunity; ensuring their views are heard, recorded, and acted upon in an appropriate and timely manner.

Skills in mediating and a solution focussed approach are essential for a SEND Officer.

Ideally, you will already have experience in a similar role. However, if you have related knowledge, experience, and skills such as a SENCO, teacher, social worker, SEND casework assistant or therapist/assistant and can demonstrate your strong potential, we are ready to invest in your training and development.

If you can prioritise work independently and complete work within tight timescales, to meet statutory deadlines and to a good quality then we want to hear from you.

This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact. We will help you to be at your best, so we can be at ours.
