Summary
Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.
A little about myself:
I am a young boy on the pathway for ASD and ADHD. I like to go to the park, climb things, watch TV and play Lego. I don’t like to be startled by loud noises and I don’t like the sound of babies crying. I have loads of energy. I will need a PA who drives to take me to social spaces and fun places for me to play and have lots of fun. I will need a booster seat for the car.
Driver required to take me out.
No preference to male/ female
Hours of work
4 hours per week term time and 10 miles.
8 hours per week school holidays and 20 miles
Rate of pay.
£12.75
Essential:
I need you to:
• To be young and fit to keep up with me,
• Have experience of children with ASD and ADHD to understand how to communicate with me and keep me grounded and calm.
• I have no awareness of road safety or playground equipment safety so you will need to keep a close eye on me and make sure I don’t hurt myself
Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You were able to be flexible in where we go for our activities, so that if one place is a bit too much, we can go to a more
suitable place
I’d like support with
• Having lots of fun in safe social situations.
• Calming down if I become overwhelmed
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
