Summary

Do you want to ‘earn as you train’ we offer IPQ (improved Professional Qualification) Level 2 Certificate for Proficiency in Baking Industry Skills.

Period of training 3-6 months. Then 12 months to complete IPQ.

The successful candidate will be trained in house in the following 3 areas:
1) Roll and Bread plant
Weigh up, mix, process and tray up/ tin up bread and rolls.
2) Proving and baking
Prove, bake and cool bread, rolls and pastries
3) Slicing, wrapping and order picking/ loading
Operate bread slicers, baggers and labellers. Select products for orders and load vans.

On successful completion of the above the candidate will be entered onto IPQ Level2. Haighs are long standing members of the Craft Bakers Association (CBA). The CBA will send their training assessor/auditor out to train and assess the candidate. The qualification is awarded by the CBA. This is a recognised apprenticeship scheme.

Hours: Approx 30 per week
Shift length: Approx 6 hours
No of shifts: 5 Sunday to Friday (closed Saturdays)
Start time: Between Initially between 7am and 12 noon.

Pay: Wage compatible with experience, age and qualifications. Meets the National Minimum Wage.

Initial Duties: Placing rolls onto baking trays, dough pieces into tins. Loading baking racks. Then weighing and mixing bread and rolls. Cleaning down equipment and work area.
