Summary
We're accredited with Investors in People Silver Standard. Our people are our greatest asset, and we want people who can contribute to our purpose in line with our values.
As a Regional Officer for Berkshire, you will use your enthusiasm, and positive thinking, to support our members. You will support our RCN local representatives, using negotiating and interpersonal skills to ensure the Voice of Nursing is at the forefront of both NHS and private organisations.
You will work alongside your patch colleagues and be supported by the wider regional team, who will help you develop your role.
Taking care of our members will be your primary role, but you will also see the possibilities that new members can bring. A key part of what you do will be to suggest innovative approaches to grow our membership and recruit local representatives who are able to support our members within the workplace.
You will be required to manage cases relating to employment or professional issues and offer professional support to RCN members through local HR processes. This will involve offering advice, and representation at meetings with the aim of ensuring the best possible outcome is achieved for our members.
We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure with the ability to demonstrate a calm and composed manner in challenging circumstances.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a variety of demands, prioritising workloads and be able to deliver outcomes to a high standard. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an awareness of health and social care issues that impact on nurses and health care support workers within the wider health care setting.
The post holder will have experience of managing conflict and challenging situations on a regular basis as well as the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with both individuals and organisations.
You will be efficient, effective and show a real customer focus in all you do.
The post holder will be required to travel throughout the patch, and you will need to be a car driver with a current full driving licence and access to a car.
