The Role:

The University of Portsmouth IT Service Desk is seeking to employ a new IT Service Desk Assistant. This role would suit someone with a background in providing excellent customer service. While experience of providing formal IT support is preferred, we would welcome applications from those with an interest in technology and helping others make best use of it.

The role will be office based on our campus in Portsmouth, and the successful applicant will join a friendly and supportive Service Desk team, providing wide ranging IT support to 29000 staff and students. The Service Desk is part of a mature IT Department providing a full spectrum of IT Services to the University.

The successful candidate will undertake both formal and informal training, including a comprehensive induction to the role and opportunities to undertake certified training.

We will be looking to appoint to 2x roles

1x Fixed Term until February 2026
1x Fixed Term for 5 months
