About the role
You will work in a fast paced mobile environment in various buildings across the borough of Reading as part of the wider Facilities Management team. This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of carrying out building compliance and other checks, some basic repairs in a corporate type buildings with great customer care attributes and an eye for detail or someone who would like to broaden their skill base into something different.
Your main duties will include:
To be carrying out compliance and building checks in community centres and other council buildings and either be trained or willing to undertake this training
To carry out health and safety and other checks and lead in emergency situations such as first aid
Provide inductions to visitors and contractors on site to provide access and facilitate specialist repairs are carried out safely.
To provide customer care to hirers and building users.
About you:
We are looking for someone with experience of working with the public and a strong commitment to excellent customer care. You will bring compliance or safety-related experience, along with a solid appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety, including practical experience of carrying out statutory compliance tasks in corporate buildings. The role also requires the ability to undertake basic repairs and maintenance work.
Flexibility is essential, as you will need to work across different sites and hold a clean driving licence. The role may also involve some evening and weekend work on an overtime basis. As some tasks are physically demanding, you should be comfortable with manual work. A commitment to further training and development is also important for this position.
