The Opportunity:

The Director will provide operational and strategic leadership for the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) East. SWAP East is a partnership of colleges and universities in the east and north of Scotland that promotes and support access to higher education for adults.

The role ensures SWAP East delivers on their strategic goals and meet all requirements set by the Scottish Funding Council. The Director will play a critical role in seeking new and sustainable funding sources to support the programme's future.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering some part-time or flexible working patterns.

The SWAP East Team is based in Edinburgh, with access to office space at the University of Edinburgh, but have a hybrid working arrangement (working both remotely and in the office). The Director would be required to work in a hybrid way; being available to support their Edinburgh based operational team, but also to meet with college, university, and funding partners regularly either in person or online.

The salary scale for this post is £49,559 to £60,907 per annum.



Your skills and attributes for success:

Extensive experience in forging and nurturing strategic partnerships
Proven experience of strategic budget management, as well as fundraising and income generation for sustainable organisational growth
Significant experience of managing programmes and staff in Further Education or Higher Education
Exceptional communication and networking abilities, with proficiency in delivering impactful presentations
Skilled in leading and managing high performing teams
