Summary
The post holder will be expected to provide clinical leadership for theonly female ward. The post-holder will be expected: To manage 18 adult inpatients with a variety of psychiatricdiagnoses, many of whom will be detained under a section ofthe Mental Health Act (MHA) To conduct assessments, request investigations and contributeto formulation of acutely unwell psychiatric inpatients To formulate treatment plans and oversee implementation andevaluation of these treatment plans To contribute to management of patient flow with a view tomanage bed capacity effectively and avoid or flag up potentialdelayed transfers of care To comply with all legal obligations covering clinical practice e.g.Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, safeguardingprocedures To complete relevant paperwork, including maintaining theelectronic record and participating in routine outcomemonitoring of clinical work To teach and supervise medical staff and other professionals inall aspects of psychiatric care To participate in the trust-wide day-time consultant psychiatristsecond on-call Rota for Health Based Place of Safety situated atChase Farm Hospital (1:32) and the trustwide on call rota (seesection 20, below). To participate in the daily MDT Meeting and other regular wardor team meetings including staff supervision. To undertakeother duties, as negotiated, that contribute to the goodfunctioning of the clinical team. To take part in weekly Haringey discharge planning meetingsand other regular meetings around patient flow involvinglocality and system colleagues. To provide clinical and professional leadership within the postBetter Mental Health. Better Lives. Better Communities.and take part in management activities and governanceprocesses related to the post or the wider service within whichit is embedded. As a senior clinician, to have an integral role in the performanceof the team, further development of the service, and thedevelopment of the clinical pathways and priorities of theservice.
