Summary

Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) - ASD/SLD,Deaf/Hearing Impaired and Non-Verbal Learners
Salary:FTE £32,301 SO1/23 - £37,491 PO1/31
Contract: 36 hours per week (other hours will be considered); 39 weeks (term-time only)

Start date: September 2025

We are a dedicated specialist school seeking an experienced and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) with experience in working in a range of settings who is keen to further develop specialist skills in Deafness and SCLN. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the communication development of learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and primarily Deaf and Hearing Impaired pupils.

About the Role:

Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to support and implement personalised communication strategies

Deliver direct therapy and develop tailored intervention plans

Provide staff training and contribute to EHCP reviews and planning

What We're Looking For:

Qualified Speech and Language Therapist, HCPC registered

Significant experience working with children and young people with ASD, SLD, Hearing Impairements and non-verbal communication needs

Background in a specialist SEN setting is essential

Strong understanding of AAC, PECS, and other alternative communication systems

A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Minimum of BSL Level 1

Experience of working with children with a range of communication needs.

Competitive salary: up to £37,000 (pro rata depending on days worked) or £160-£170 Per Day
