Summary

About the job

Part time - 22.5 hours a week

Interview date - 18 June 2025

You will handle confidential primary and secondary school pupil data, using the university’s tracking platform; Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT). You will upload and analyse this data, provide reports and targeting information to the Widening Access Manager to enable the university to ensure its resources are targeted correctly, impact is achieved and outcomes can be reported accurately and in a timely manner.

You will also be expected to support the inputting and transfer of data into the university’s CRM Dynamix system, in collaboration with the Schools and Colleges Liaison team, to enable tracking of UON–wide participation with schools and colleges.

You will support the team by becoming the HEAT expert within the university, and through accurate and timely data input and manipulation, develop a series of reports and presentations (using Power Bi and other software) across the year to enable the team to better target resource and provision as well as enabling the Widening Access Manager to report impact to the University Leadership Team. Positive stakeholder relationship development is key to this post, to ensure the timely provision of data from school partners, as is the development of collaborative working with all members of the Schools Engagement Team and other teams within the university who contribute to the institutional Access and Participation Plan.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.

About you

We are looking to appoint someone with knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Excel and has a desire and motivation to develop this knowledge further to support the development of dynamic reporting and analysis to the Schools Engagement Team. You will need experience of data inputting and manipulation and pay attention to the detail to enable you to accurately present written and oral reports. You will need good collaborative and relationship development skills to ensure timely data provision from stakeholders and outcomes to be achieved in data analysis. We are looking for someone who is able to manage multiple priorities and can meet deadlines. An awareness of interactive data visualisation software including PowerBi would be beneficial but not essential to this post, as time for training would be provided. We are a collaborative team working very closely with each other and as such we are looking for someone who will add to the collaborative ethos of our team.
