The job plan is based upon approximately 10PAs initially. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would undertake 1-2 all day (2.5PA) theatre lists per week (approximately 4-6 every 4 weeks), with 1-2 Out-patient clinics (1 PA each). There is a fixed MDT (0.75 PA) and consultant meeting (0.25 PA) on Monday morning which are in-person. 1 PA is paid for patient related administration (DCC). The Trust currently offers 1.5 PA for supporting professional activities (SPA) to demonstrate to the GMC that they are up to date and fit to practice via appraisal and revalidation. The trust is keen to offer a further 1 SPA in recognition of other supporting activities including teaching, undergraduate teaching, research, trainee supervision, managerial input, clinical governance work outside of audit of personal practice, improvement in patient care, service delivery enhancement and efficiency, or other activities as specified in the job planning policy. Remuneration for travelling between ROH and BCH is specified in the job planning policy, currently rated at 0.125 PA each way. On call commitments attract 1 PA for unpredictable activity. The availability supplement is rated band A or B at 1:13 (prospective cover). Consultants within the Trust are expected to complete job plan diaries when required to ensure appropriate remuneration.
