Summary

Are you practical, hands-on and looking to kickstart your career in property maintenance? Join our Estates & Facilities team at Bishop Auckland College as an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative and gain valuable experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

As an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a key role in keeping our college buildings safe, functional and welcoming. You’ll assist with a variety of tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and general repairs, while learning from skilled professionals.

This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience in a dynamic education environment, with structured support and dedicated time to study. For the duration of your apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving the Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship standard qualification.

No formal qualifications or previous experience required.

Key information
Grade: £7.55 per hour (Apprentice National Minimum Wage). After the first year, wage will go up to NMW for those aged 19+
Hours: 37 hours per week, temporary position 18 to 21 months.

This role will include responsibilities within safeguarding and the postholder will be engaging in regulated activity.
