Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) specialising in corneal and anterior segment ophthalmology to join the optometry team. The ACP will work collaboratively with other members of the optometry team, other healthcare professionals and consultant ophthalmologists ensuring they provide clinical excellence in the delivery of high-quality patient centred care.

The role requires a skilled autonomous clinician with highly developed ophthalmic knowledge and prescribing abilities, through a combination of prior experience and higher qualifications. They will demonstrate critical thinking in clinical decision-making processes and will play a key role in service delivery and adherence to policy and procedures. They will also be instrumental in guiding and supporting the development and practice of junior clinicians including teaching and training. The post holder will also be expected to lead on clinical audit as well as taking advantage of opportunities to be involved in research.

You will have excellent organisational skills, be a good communicator and demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and professional approach to patients and staff. We are looking for an ACP who is innovative and creative who can share their experience and existing skills. Experience of working in hospital ophthalmology services is desirable.
