Summary

Band 6 Neuro Rotational Physiotherapist (9 monthly)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist with proven clinical skills to join the Band 6 neurophysiotherapy rotational circuit at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the one of the largest teaching hospital Foundation Trusts in the country, employing over 300 physiotherapy staff.

You will gain experience of treating a wide variety of neurological conditions in the acute, outpatient, and community settings. You will have the opportunity to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills, including appraisal and supervision of junior staff and students, participation in projects contributing to service development, and delivery of training programmes and teaching both within the Trust and our partner organisations.

There are six rotations in the neurophysiotherapy circuit:
• Acute stroke rehabilitation
• Acute neuro rehabilitation
• Neuro outpatients
• Community stroke rehabilitation
• Community neuro rehabilitation and neuro conditions
• Level 2b inpatient neuro-rehabilitation at the Pulross centre

Each rotation is 9 months in duration and each post is supported by a number of experienced senior staff and clinical specialists. Staff need to be prepared to participate in any of the rotations within the circuit. These posts would suit an experienced Band 5 physiotherapist or current Band 6 physiotherapist wishing to gain specific experience in neurological physiotherapy and further develop their skills and knowledge. Accordingly, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and the enthusiasm and willingness to consolidate and develop your existing clinical practice.

As part of the physiotherapy department’s commitment to meeting patient needs and delivering excellence, we provide a 24 hour, 7-day service. It is therefore essential the post holder be able to work their hours flexibly across the week and contribute fully to both existing and new rotas.
