Summary

Secondary Teaching Assistant - SEN & Classroom Support - Waltham Forest

Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest to appoint confident Teaching Assistants to support students across a range of subjects.
This is a hands-on role for candidates with solid experience in SEN and secondary settings, ready to hit the ground running in a high-paced learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and group support to students across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of subjects
* Assist students with additional needs, adapting support methods to suit individual learning styles
* Collaborate with classroom teachers and SEN staff to implement learning plans and behaviour strategies
* Encourage active engagement, independent learning, and positive behaviour
* Support lesson delivery, class transitions, and social time supervision where needed
* Contribute to creating an inclusive classroom environment that meets a wide range of needs

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working in a secondary school environment
* Proven track record of supporting students with special educational needs (SEN)
* Confidence supporting across a broad curriculum and adapting quickly to subject changes
* A calm, proactive, and supportive approach to student engagement
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

Location & Transport - Waltham Forest, London (E17):
* Easily accessible via Walthamstow Central and Blackhorse Road stations
* Local bus routes: 20, 34, 69, 97, 215, 257, W15
* On-site staff parking available
