Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results oriented First Line Manager to join our team at the Bedford site. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth daily operations of a fast-paced, customer-focused pharmaceutical warehouse environment. You will be responsible for leading a team, maintaining operational excellence, and upholding regulatory compliance standards, while delivering high-quality service to multiple clients. Your working hours will be 14:00-22:00, the pay is £30,950 and this includes the afternoon shift allowance.

Purpose of the Role

The First Line Manager will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of operatives, coordinate with cross-functional departments such as Commercial, Customer Services, Quality Assurance, Inventory, and Transport, and support the continuous improvement of processes and service delivery.

How you'll make an impact as a First Line Manager at Movianto:

  • Lead daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely execution.
  • Supervise and develop a team, ensuring resource planning aligns with demand.
  • Maintain high standards of compliance with GDP and health & safety regulations.
  • Act as the main contact for customer accounts, ensuring service excellence and swift issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational alignment.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews, and shift planning.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report performance metrics and highlight risks and opportunities to senior management.

What it will take to thrive as a First Line Manager in Movianto:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of industry compliance standards such as GDP and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing operational teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing operations in a multi-client warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Relevant professional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management.
