Breadalbane Community Campus
JOB PURPOSE:
To help create a friendly, welcoming, caring environment for customers of the Facility. To ensure, through service delivery standards, that the needs and aspirations of members of the community and visitors to Perth & Kinross are met and where possible exceeded. To be a dedicated instructor responsible for the delivery and development of Activity Programmes at Breadalbane Community Campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Duties
Key Tasks
• Organise and deliver swimming lessons and a wide range of physical activities, and fitness gym programmes within the facility
• Carry out administrative duties in connection with the efficient operation of programmes
• Contribute to developing programme content
• Regularly carry out and record safety checks for equipment and facilities used to deliver programmes
• Assist in the production of material for the marketing and promotion of programmes
• Coach a range of physical activities
• Work closely with facility based staff to ensure the effective operation of the programmes
• Assist in the recruitment and development of coaches and instructors
• Work closely with facility based staff to ensure the effective operation of the programmes
• Organisation and preparation for classes taught, including session plans, class lists and administration of programme
• Arrange appropriate equipment for classes
• When required opening up and closing the Centre
• Supervise on duty staff as required
Health and safety
Key Tasks
• To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation
• To ensure that any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment is reported to management of facilities
• To ensure programmes are delivered in-line with operational polices and guidelines
Training
Key Tasks
• To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally
• Assist in regular in-house or external training for coaches and instructors
General
Key Tasks
• To ensure you are physically fit to carry out your duties at all times
• To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required
• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines
Programming, Marketing and Development
Key Tasks
• To contribute to the practical on-site marketing and promotion of the Company’s activities, in conjunction with Company officers and in line with the Company’s Marketing and Service Plans
• To maximise the service potential through a proactive approach to all development activities in conjunction with the Company’s Development and other staff
• To represent the Company within appropriate groups eg user groups, project teams, etc.
• To contribute to the ongoing review and further development of facility and service programmes to ensure maximum service benefit
