Summary
The post holder will be expected to construct a full range of specialist fixed and removable orthodontic appliances to a high level of complexity. The post holder will also be expected to provide dental laboratory support and model provision for the current specialties OMFS, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. The majority of the laboratory work will be prescribed by clinicians within the Orthodontic and Oral & Maxillofacial surgery department. In addition to direct hands-on laboratory work, the post holder will undertake administrative duties, including dealing with patient enquiries and record keeping, further develop skills in the application of digital technology in orthodontics and oral surgery and maintain continued professional development. The post holder will also provide general support to the Dental Laboratory Manager and the other Dental Laboratory staff, ensuring that services are delivered effectively in the interests of patient care.
