Summary
To maintain and promote a high level of clinical expertise. To participate in department shift system and/or out of hours roster. To encourage and practice right first time radiography and strive to achieve quality assurance in all aspects of the radiology service. To be responsible for the care and comfort of the patient whilst they are in our care respecting their privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs. Perform technical administrative tasks, including accurate patient information, examination details and post processing requirements on the Radiology Information, PACS and national audit systems. To advise and support the multidisciplinary team in maintaining radiation safety in the working environment. To perform an active role in IRMER compliance identifying areas for improvement and acting on them. To supervise, advise and mentor staff developing a learning culture within the team. To work closely with the Superintendent Radiographers to provide optimum patient care and continue to seek ways of improving standards and performance. Organise, plan and prioritise workload according to clinical need. To oversee and assist in the training of new staff and continuous development of departmental staff within the area to enable adequate cover and to meet ongoing demands of the service.
