About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Tesco Product Safety and Labelling team for a Food Product Regulatory & Labelling Advisor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting on the development and implementation of food safety, composition and labelling policy along with compliance and related risks for the business.

This role would suit someone that has food regulatory/labelling legislation experience.

You will be responsible for

Supporting Food Product Risk and Regulation Manager and the Labelling Policy Manager on:

  • Development and implementation of food product safety policy, requirements and standards in the areas of contaminants, product composition and wider food regulation (e.g. General Food Law, Novel Food Regulations, etc.) and monitoring compliance with them
  • Development and dissemination of Tesco food labelling requirements and compliance with them
  • Responding to queries from Technical teams and other stakeholders on issues relating to labelling, contaminants, product composition and wider food regulations and Tesco policies
  • Horizon scanning to detect emerging risks, changes to legislation and regulatory divergence relevant to food products, advising on their management and incorporating into policy where needed
  • Input into the food safety testing programmes on pesticides and contaminants, and support appropriate risk management of results, as required
  • Managing the Tesco Quality Connect (TQC) labelling glossary and other system developments
  • Leading on TQC reporting on product composition compliance for the team
  • Co-ordinating work with Tesco\'s third-party pesticide risk assessment provider
  • Co-ordinating regulatory policy meetings with Tesco\'s third-party labelling service providers.
  • Other project work to support the PSL team and wider PRC Team, as required.

You will need

  • Risk Assessment
  • Food regulatory/labelling legislation experience
  • Specification and artwork processes
  • Prioritisation/able to manage competing demands on time, and work to agreed deadlines
  • Comfortable with spreadsheet and database applications
