Summary

The Role
Our adult substance use service in the London Borough of Redbridge is seeking professional and motivated recovery practitioners, who work in a trauma-informed way to deliver evidence based psychosocial interventions in one-to-one and group settings.

This rewarding role has scope for growth and innovation within a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.

The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent quality of care aligning to the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry and underpinned by Via’s Values, that supports people to make meaningful change in their health and wellbeing, by reducing or stopping their use of alcohol or drugs. Some responsibilities of the role include:

• Comprehensively assessing new people for treatment and ensuring they are provided with opportunities to start treatment as soon as possible following assessment.
• Providing one to one behaviour change interventions to your own caseload, using Via’s Core Model of psychosocial interventions, and other evidence based interventions such as ITEP mapping, that are relevant and appropriate to their goals, substance use, and stage of recovery.
• Working with clinical colleagues to ensure people are accessing clinical interventions, such as OST prescribing, relapse prevention prescribing, or community detox, are supported and management appropriately.
• Ensuring those on your caseload are effectively engaged, reengaged and discharged, according to local operating procedures.
• Providing and documenting relevant harm reduction strategies and interventions offered to them, according to their risks.
• Ensuring their risk assessments, risk management plans, and care plans are regularly and collaboratively reviewed with them.
• Maintaining effective oversight and management of safeguarding cases on your caseload, supported by the local safeguarding leads and your team leader.
• Support service delivery including duty cover and group facilitation.
• Professionally and effectively communicating with other professionals involved in their care as needed.

Location
The role is predominantly based in Ilford Town Centre with some requirement at time to external meetings and satellites within the borough, and to other Via locations as needed.
