Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a motivated and committed individual to take a lead psychological practitioner role within the Lancaster & Morecambe Community Mental Health Team.
The post will be based across Lancaster & Morecambe and provide assessment and psychological therapy to service users. The role will also encompass service development, training, and consultation work with other professionals, as well as working in collaboration with other psychological practitioners within the team, including a band 7 psychological practitioner, assistant psychologists, and a band 8B Principal Clinical Psychologist, as well as working in the wider Bay psychological professions network.
It is expected that the postholder has experience and advanced qualifications in delivering CBT and EMDR and has sufficient experience in supervision to offer group and individual supervision, with a willingness to work towards CBT Supervisor / EMDR Consultant Status, supported by the Trust. This postholder will take a lead role in helping the Consultant Lead in developing a sustainable training and supervision offer for people wishing to develop their CBT and EMDR skills in secondary care teams.
1 To provide a qualified psychological therapy (including either Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT or EMDR) service to patients of the nominated team(s) including the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service.
2. To offer advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. To develop advanced skills in consultancy by implementing formal systems of consultancy within the nominated team(s), as directed and guided by your Locality Professional Lead and his/her deputies.
3. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the post holder works
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
