Role Overview
As a Qualified Level 3 Playworker, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional
wraparound childcare services. You will lead activities that foster learning, creativity,
and well-being, while ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and compliance.

You’ll be a role model for children, a motivator for colleagues, and a trusted partner to families. This role is perfect for someone passionate about play-based learning who thrives in a vibrant, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Activity Planning & Delivery

• Create inclusive, engaging, and age-appropriate activities based on SPICE and
EYFS frameworks

• Use the PEP framework to promote children’s creativity, resilience, and family
connections

• Regularly evaluate and adapt activities to support diverse needs and interests

Leadership & Supervision

• Act as a key person for children, building strong, trusting relationships

• Lead, support, and motivate staff to deliver excellent childcare

• Mentor and coach colleagues to support their growth and confidence

Club Operations

• Oversee daily club routines including risk assessments, safety checks, and
resources

• Ensure smooth delivery of administrative duties and adherence to policies

• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community partners

Professional Development & Team Culture

• Participate in training and development programs to grow your skills

• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new staff

• Represent The Gap Club at community and school events

Compliance & Safeguarding

• Uphold all safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations

• Promote healthy eating and ensure safe food handling

• Maintain confidentiality and act professionally in all situations

Skills & Experience

Essential:
• Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent

• Experience working in early years or wraparound care settings

• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, EYFS, and regulatory standards

• Proficiency in using digital tools such as MS Office 365

• Ability to create inclusive, play-rich environments for diverse learners

Desirable:
• Experience supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges

• Familiarity with online learning journals

• Knowledge of Every Child Matters and Ofsted welfare requirements

• First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Flexible to travel between locations

• Experience with admin, reporting, or customer service
