Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Head of Year (teaching) to join the school’s pastoral team who oversee the day to day running of the year groups and who work closely with Curriculum Leaders to ensure our students receive ‘An Excellent Education for All’.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the learning, progress, attainment, behaviour and wellbeing of a year group of up to 180 students in KS3, KS4 or KS5. As part of their duties they will work closely with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and will be trained to Level 3 Safeguarding.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively alongside their subject teams to deliver strong outcomes for all our students and will play a key role in shaping the future success of our students. We would particularly welcome applications from Science teachers however we would welcome from other subjects as well.

Candidates must be aligned with the schools Vision and Values and will need to be able to demonstrate very strong organisational skills, be able to communicate effectively with and support parents, students and outside agencies. Experience of working with young people is essential. Our Pastoral Team are First Aid trained, therefore the successful applicant will also be required to undertake First Aid training. There will also be the need for sound computer skills with the ability to understand and interpret data.
