Summary

Join Dementia UK in this exciting new role as a Power BI Developer, where you’ll play a vital part in designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft’s Power BI platform. At the heart of this role is the transformation of raw data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making across the organisation.

You’ll work proactively with stakeholders to understand their data needs, supporting the Head of IT Data and System Development, Enterprise and Data Architect in shaping Dementia UK’s data strategy. Your dashboards will provide real-time analytics and trend analysis, helping the organisation spot opportunities and address challenges swiftly.

By automating data integration and reporting processes, the role streamlines workflows, reduces manual effort and minimises the risk of errors, ultimately boosting efficiency and productivity. Your expertise in data modelling will ensure complex data sets are presented clearly, making them accessible and actionable for colleagues across the charity.

This position supports the IT team in harnessing data more effectively to drive informed, strategic outcomes. It aligns with the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) SFIAplus IT Skills framework, covering Business Intelligence (BINT), Data Visualisation (VISL) and Data Modelling and Design (DTAN).

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or with equivalent industry qualifications, who is proficient in Power BI and skilled in analytical thinking. You’ll bring experience of working on data preparation and warehousing projects, including familiarity with the Microsoft BI stack and SQL. A solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and unstructured data transformation, along with strong problem-solving abilities, is also essential.
