Summary
Leads on ensuring accurate information is collected and that source systems data matches that ingested into any other platform for reporting/information purposes. To be the lead of specialist knowledge for all matters relating to Data Quality, providing highly specialised advice, instruction, and guidance to the groups clinical information system users and managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of data input is maintained and improved upon, and to champion greater understanding of the need for good quality data. Providing specialist advice and expertise on data definitions, analysis and interpretation. Providing leadership across the group on data quality and supporting the identification of mechanisms to improve data quality. Work closely with managers, staff across the group, and the training team, to improve timeliness, consistency, awareness and importance of data quality to support continuous improvement of services for patients, and create an environment where the public, service users and Commissioners are confident that data is accurate and fit for purpose. Oversee the development of a range of standard management reports and inputs to the development of new reports for varying audiences such as the group boards and other relevant management boards and committees across the group. Supporting projects to develop and implement data collection processes and produce information to meet defined reporting and information requirements. This will include planning, organising a broad range of complex activities, formulating and adjusting plans as necessary and which may impact across the Group, some of these will be longer-term / strategic plans Interrogating information systems using database query tools/reporting packages and creating complex queries to meet specific information requests. Supporting the development and implementation of training/facilitation packages on data sources, and definitions Implementing processes to investigate data errors, identifying and analysing sources of variations or errors in information reports, monitoring and auditing data quality and working with services to improve the quality and integrity of the information in Patient Administration Systems (PAS) with significant impact on patient care and finances. To analyse highly complex issues and, using a number of different sources i.e. patient clinical records, clinical information systems, demographic systems, external sources etc, interpret the information to determine correct outcomes of data quality investigations, using judgement when information is not clearly defined. To analyse audits and data quality reports, planning and developing training and education requirements based on needs analysis and, deliver training and specialised Data Quality education in order to resolve the issues, informing managers of issues and action taken.
