The IT Operations Manager will act as the Deputy Head of IT and support the leadership and management of the IT department. This includes driving forward key projects and liaising with other key staff across the college to ensure wider priorities and objectives are met.

The postholder will ensure appropriate security regimes exist around the College’s IT systems to protect against cyber threats, as well as taking an active interest in current trends of IT systems in the education sector and the support and security of those systems.

The IT Operations Manager will line-manage and work with our team of specialists to efficiently manage and support the security, monitoring and reporting of all hardware and software related to servers, client endpoint devices and users.

The IT Support team at Gloucestershire College are a team of circa 14 staff that provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT Support for the college. We implement, secure and support all IT infrastructure, devices and software across our 3 campuses. As well as maintaining existing College systems, we are always looking at new technologies and working with other external partners and internal departments to provide the best IT facilities we can for our learners and staff. We are focussed on providing excellent customer service to respond to faults and requests to support all computer users during the college week.

All roles in the department require on site, cross-campus working. Collaboration both within the team and with other college staff is crucial to deliver various IT projects, replacements and enhancements. This means whilst each role carries some specific duties and responsibilities, all roles have a wide scope of tasks to perform and require a diverse set of ever developing skills for the department to function efficiently.

A career with us means much more than just a salary- we know that our people are our greatest asset.
