Summary

The DVSA Digital & Data Hub is at a pivotal moment of transformation, building strong digital foundations and capability across the organisation. As we scale our team and invest in digital services, governance, and business partnering, we’re looking for colleagues who can help shape the future of DVSA’s digital landscape.

This role will sit at the heart of our growing Digital Hub – an area focused on driving strategic alignment, improving digital delivery, and raising digital maturity across DVSA. Whether improving how we recruit and support talent, embedding smarter workforce and programme governance, or strengthening our business partnering capability, you’ll play a key role in building the infrastructure that enables DVSA to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across Driver, Vehicle, Enforcement and Common Services portfolios, supporting DVSA’s ambition to be a more agile, data-informed and digitally confident organisation. As we embed a new operating model, we’re looking for people who are adaptable, delivery-focused, and motivated to build a modern, inclusive digital culture.

If you’re passionate about creating the conditions for digital success and want to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team – we’d love to hear from you.

The Governance Portfolio Manager (Digital) will support the Head of Digital Governance in quality assuring programmes and projects within DVSA’s Portfolio. The role involves engaging confidently with senior leaders and Project SROs, championing assurance principles and values, and providing sound advice on governance, risk, and controls. The role holder will work collaboratively within DVSA and externally across DfT to ensure informed decision-making and maintain DVSA’s service provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure programmes and projects within the portfolio meet compliance, standards, and risk levels.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders and Project SROs, promoting a positive assurance culture.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee the allocation of assurance resources, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Financial Administration: Handle budget profiling and monthly monitoring, ensuring coherence between programmes and projects.
  • Training and Development: Conduct workshops on project management tools and methodologies, fostering a learning culture.
