An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Engineer within the Enterprise Network & and Cyber Security team,

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Support Engineer to join our Core Systems team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for enterprise technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide top-notch technical support to our clients. As a Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' networks and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with server provisioning on both traditional server hardware and on the Council’s Hyperconverged Infrastructure
  • Assist with Server Administration duties including regular patching, system monitoring and performance tuning
  • Work with Application owners to provide support and maintenance of their systems
  • Assist with the administration of our Database Access Management systems contained in Microsoft Active Directory & Microsoft Entra ID
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security vulnerabilities
  • Ensure regular backups are taken and restoration techniques are regularly tested
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Security Team to help develop and implement security policies and best practices for server infrastructure
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends, technologies, and Cyber Security threats
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the infrastructure you will support

As well as having experience working with suppliers, you will need to be highly motivated to drive forward positive change, enjoy working with others, and have a record of accomplishment of providing customer focused IT support. You should ideally be educated to degree level.
