Summary
As an assistant psychologist, you can expect to work in a variety of roles within Talk Well with a strong focus on co-production, engagement and evaluation. You may be involved in tasks such as: Talk Well Chat/InTER-ACT (1.5 days per week) To provide psychologically informed support through the TalkWell Chat anonymous text/phone drop-in service. To assist in the coordination and delivery of psycho-educational groups and workshops, face-to-face and/or virtually. The above will require you to work for two evenings per week until 9.15pm. To receive monthly clinical supervision from a qualified psychologist. To attend the TalkWell Chat monthly peer supervision group. Talk Well are leading providers of training and you will be expected to engage in regular internal and external CPD, in consultation with your team manager and supervisor. Talk Well Eating Difficulties Service and Gloucester Multi Agency Navigation Hub (2 days per week) TEDS Following the FREED model of intervention for eating difficulties, to provide an initial engagement call with all young people accessing the Talk Well Eating Difficulties Service (TEDS), allocate the young person to a suitable counsellor (including booking a suitable room) and provide ongoing support. You may also have a role in completing assessment calls for TEDS clients and in occasionally attending the NHS Eating Disorder triage meetings to represent the TEDS team, with support from the TEDS Lead Counsellor. Attending weekly TEDS Team meeting and twice monthly clinical supervision. Navigation Hub Attend the Gloucester Single Point of Access Navigation Hub contributing to the multi-agency discussion, decision making, preparing and reading referrals. Clinical Resource Development and Training(approximately 0.5 days per week) To be responsible for the shared resource hub, and ensure all materials added are credible and psychologically informed. To help in the production of teaching material for counselling training, in collaboration with the Talk Well counselling tutors. Deliver training to counselling students in collaboration with the YPVG, on subjects privileging the experiences of young people. Participation and Outreach(approximately 0.5 days per week) At Talk Well, co-production is key to our approach and you will be involved in running the Young Peoples Voices Group, and the Parent and Carers Voices Group. This will include recruiting to the group, preparing resources for consultation and facilitating the discussion. Engagement with service users, parents and professionals to include the promotion of Talk Well services through outreach events including school assemblies, mental health awareness events and written materials. You may be required to attend networking events, where you will be expected to represent Talk Well and provide a detailed overview of the charity's services, while building relationships with other local organisations. There may also be opportunities to deliver training sessions to external organisations. Audit, Research, Evaluation (approximately 0.5 days per week) To have a critical appreciation of the relevant research literature and to produce systematically informed literature reviews when requested. To lead on a service evaluation project, in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer, with the aspiration to publish the findings in a peer reviewed academic journal and increase the national profile of Talk Well. You may also be required to develop surveys, interview schedules and written materials to facilitate staff feedback and promote internal engagement with new services and initiatives. Alongside the Talk Well data analyst team, to be involved in the collection and analysis of data related to the above and annual evaluations e.g. staff survey data, experience of survey data.
