The occupational health nurse role is varied and includes:
• identifying and preventing work related health problems.
• promotion of healthy living and working conditions.
• understanding the effects of work on health and health at work.
• provide advice on first aid management.
• provide health screening services.
• Support the senior nurses to make efficient and effective use of resources. Maintain accurate records of clinical stock, ordering of pharmacy items, clinical supplies and purchasing of stock items
• To demonstrate IT skills to enable access to relevant information. i.e. blood results
• Good time management skills in order to manage daily caseload
• To maintain client confidentiality and work within the framework of the Data Protection Act.
