Summary

There are exciting things happening in Calderdale. We are passionate about driving improvements for children, young people and families and are delighted to be recruiting for the role of Risk Outside the Home Senior Officer.

In this role you will co-ordinate the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our approach to harm outside of the home, exploitation, contextual and transitional safeguarding practice across partners working with young people.

You will use your expertise to provide support, advice, guidance and oversight for young people who are at risk of harms which might be on the street, online, through peer networks, or from previous trauma.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same; you might be providing consults, auditing cases and data, chairing meetings, developing relationships with other agencies and partners, as well as coordinating the response to children and young people who are deemed to be at the highest risk of harm outside the home.

We are keen to hear from individuals with the following:

• Significant knowledge and understanding of harm outside the home
• A relevant social work qualification is desirable
• Evidence of working with partner agencies and chairing multi agency meetings

You’ll be joining an ambitious partnership, which has an empowering culture. You’ll also be coming to a place on the precipice of significant transformation that will change lives for generations to come.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role before you apply, then please contact Julia.caldwell@Calderdale.gov.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
