We are a charitable organisation based in the Scottish Borders. We provide care and support to adults to lead great lives. Most of the people we currently support have learning disabilities or mental health problems. Our team help people to live an independent and fulfilling life in the local community.
We are looking to recruit a full time (30 to 39 hours per week) Senior Support Worker to join our team in our Central Service (Galashiels, Jedburgh, Kelso).
The post will be based in our Jedburgh service, but the successful candidate will be required to work within our other services.
The ideal person will be dynamic with a strong value base, a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for people we support and the skills to support colleagues in the workplace. Ideally, you will have a level III qualification in Social Care or equivalent plus a minimum of two years’ experience working in Social Care along with experience of supervising staff and co-ordinating support provision.

About the role:
You will:
be responsible for contributing to the assessment of support and care needs and the development, implementation and review of support plans to the people who receive a service.
Co-operate with and assist the Deputy Service Manager and the Manager in developing, leading and managing the staff team.
Be required to supervise junior staff and contribute to the induction of new staff.
Be required to manage resources efficiently and ensure compliance with the law, national care standards and service policies and procedures.
This is a full time position, 30 to 39 hours p/w. Applicants should be flexible in their approach to hours of work, as staff will be required to work a range of shifts including regular weekends, sleepovers and waken nightshifts. A valid driving licence would be desirable although not essential although you will be expected to travel/work between services.
Any offer of employment will be conditional on a satisfactory Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check and two satisfactory references.
