Summary

The role of Unit Administrator is varied and you may be assigned outputs to deliver from a wide range of tasks including support for military personnel that involves managing pay and personnel documentation and records; managing unit IT holdings; maintaining electronic and paper databases and records; analysing data and preparing reports; drafting routine correspondence; arranging travel; and receiving visitors to the unit.

Key responsibilities for the successful Unit Administrator:

General administration and support.
Manage diaries, arrange meetings/conferences and outward visits.
Arrange access and greet external visitors and contractors to the unit.
Arrange working functions within unit financial allocation.
Manage, action and file mail, physical and electronic, including assigned group mail accounts.
Book training and arrange travel for unit personnel, ensuring it is within policy regulations.
Purchase office consumables (such as copier/printer toner/ink and paper, stationery).
Administration for unit military personnel.
Maintenance of personnel records (digital and paper based) such as personal data records, medical documents, emergency contact details etc.
Ensuring new arrivals and those leaving complete the correct processes and paperwork and that records are correctly updated.
Information-Hub (i-Hub): Support the management of electronic and paper documentation, Maintain unit web pages and electronic filing systems, and assist with the management of IT assets.
As part of a flexible and responsive workforce the Unit Administrator may from time to time be required to assist others with, or undertake, alternative tasks instead of their normal outputs to meet higher priority business needs.
