Summary
HEAD OF SOUND - STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Head of Sound to work on the London production of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW; written by Kate Trefry, an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, directed by Stephen Daldry, co-directed by Justin Martin for the Phoenix Theatre and produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to run a busy department. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly. They should also have experience in a similar Head of Sound role.
Experience on a large-scale production is essential. Candidates should have experience of mixing multiple mics alongside busy sound effects sequences, and of running a sound department with considerable rolling rehearsal and maintenance requirements.
Start Date: 27th July 2025

Contract Type: Fixed term for a year from start date, then the contract will be rolling.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
