Summary
At DWP Digital, we design and develop digital user-friendly digital services that enable millions of people to access the help, advice, and financial support they need. Almost everyone in the UK relies on our digital services at some point in their lives.
DWP needs the right intelligence for it to be able to deliver its services and continually look to improve them and do this in as efficient way as possible. Management Information is an integral part of providing the intelligence to enable this.
DWP MI provide the strategic capability for MI reporting and visualisations across the entire Department. DWP MI provides an expert domain and IT platform, which supports many teams across DWP in self-developing their own MI and also provides the option for areas of DWP to commission MI to be developed for them.
Our Data Analyst community have a key responsibility in providing the right skills and talent to ensure the effective development of MI across DWP Digital.
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for developing data analysis products which meet stakeholder needs to agreed timescales, as well as coaching others on how to best do this. You will support continuous improvement of standards and provide leadership to develop the broader MI developer community across DWP, providing technical guidance alongside other data analysis functions for stakeholders.
Working in our MI Support Hub you will have the fantastic opportunity of being able to guide and coach hundreds of teams across DWP, cascading skills and knowledge on how to best develop MI products. This is because many of the teams that engage with DWP MI and build products on our platform are doing so on a best endeavours basis.
You will be responsible for steering and coaching such teams, with the option to yourself embed in wider DWP teams for a period to help them grow their skills.
There are also MI developer roles in our teams for scenarios where we are commissioned to develop MI reports on behalf of other DWP teams, such as the Secretary of State SoS dashboard.
You’ll work as part of an agile development team, and work with stakeholders to develop a product that meets their needs, but at the same time guides them in how to achieve this in the best possible approach.
